PADI Open Water Diver

This is the course that gets you started in the underwater world. It teaches you all the skills and theory that you need to dive safely to a depth of 18m in daylight. The course is run over 4 days with the first 2 days learning the theory in the classroom and practicing skills diving in the pool. Your last 2 days will be spent completing the 5 open water dives in the ocean with 2 dives off the boat, most likely on the Cochrane Artificial Reef.

 Since we feel that this is the most important course that you will ever take in your dive education, we have extended the course by one dive (which can be credited towards your Advanced open water).  We keep the student numbers down to a maximum of 4 per instructor. Learning in an environment where you do not spend most of your time watching up to 9 other student divers practice the skill you have just done. Learning to dive with us you will, spend more time DIVING, less time watching. Your course will be more fun with more diving and you will be more experienced.

During your course you will gain experience diving  from both the shoreline and from our boat. Upon certification as a Open Water Diver you will be fully prepared for diving  from a boat or the shore.

Please be aware that the minimum age for this course in Queensland is 12 years old (although getting a medical for anyone under 14 years old is hard, please speak to your own doctor first.).  All new divers are required to pass a dive medical prior to the start of the course.  For a full information pack please Email us
